Lakshmi Ring Travellers (LRT) is a name that needs no introduction to those from the textile industry. The company has made deep inroads into the global market with its quality range of ring travellers. LRT is all set to make a splash once again on the global stage, come ITMA 2023.

In an exclusive chat, J M Balaji, Head (Marketing), said, “ITMA is a very important event for us, especially given our target markets from regions such as South America, Turkey and Iran. These belts usually prefer ITMA. While there are other exhibitions, ITMA has got its own importance. It is an event which our agents also prefer. We can meet people from around the world at the event. We will have quite a big team with translators and agents who speak Portuguese, Spanish, Latin, etc. so as to facilitate interaction with customers from across the globe.”

Wide Range

The company takes pride in its wide range of ring travellers. “We have all types of metal ring travellers. We have J-shaped travellers. We have different ring travellers for different types of rings. We are proud to say that we have the maximum range of travellers. Another advantage that we enjoy is that we are located right in the heart of the spinning capital of the world. We therefore understand spinning like no other with numerous trials going on in our backyard. Our competitors probably have to come here,” he pointed out.

Sharing details regarding the products that the company will be showcasing at ITMA 2023, Balaji mentioned, “We strongly believe that product developments and innovations should be a continuous process. We generally don’t wait for a particular event to launch a proud. When we feel that a product is ready for launch, we launch it. We will be showcasing our wide range of ring travellers at ITMA. We have worked with a lot of combination of profiles, specifically synthetics.”

“That apart, we will be showcasing a new tool for insertion of travellers, wherever spindle monitoring systems are involved. We already have a tool for ring frames without spindle monitoring systems, but with the increase in spindle monitoring systems, we have come out with the new tool. For the global market, we also offer bobbin holders, which you will find in our booth. LEED, a group company of LRT, will also be showcasing solutions for water and waste water treatment and solid waste management at our stall,” he added.

Global Presence

The company has made deep inroads in key global markets. “We are present in all spinning-heavy countries. For example, we are there in Latin America. We are the largest non-Chinese product seller in China. We are very well-placed in China, which is our second-biggest market after India. In Bangladesh, we have 60% market share. We are also present in places such as Indonesia, Egypt, Dubai, Iran and Turkey,” Balaji said. “We operate in about 45 countries. Up to 60% of our business revenue comes from exports and the rest 40% from domestic sales. Due to the slowdown in the economies of Europe and US, the export numbers have got impacted a bit. Hopefully, the situation will improve in the near future,” he added.

Speaking about the company’s focus on automation and digitisation, Balaji highlighted the innovation that has gone behind the company’s new insertion tool for travellers. “It is going to help reduce the manpower required and is also a product that is known for its durability and longevity,” he said. Finally, listing down the areas of strength of the company, Balaji said, “We are the largest ring traveller manufacturers in the world. This is not by chance. It is due to the performance of our products. Our second strength is our delivery system. You can get our traveller anywhere in the world within 24-48 hours. And all this is backed by excellent service. These are the three competitive advantages we offer our customers. At ITMA 2023, we look forward to welcoming all our visitors and agents in Hall No. 2, Booth A 202. You can also call or write to us to fix appointments. We have a big team at ITMA, right from our managing director to our sales team and agents globally,” he added.
