Revozona and The Gaurs offer solutions that effectively reduce CO2 emissions, save on valuable resources and much more. In fact, up to 45% production costs are saved, allowing a return on investment in less than two years. The article highlights how such solutions are taking the global textile industry by storm

Swiss company Revozona is considered a top player globally in the fabric pre-treatment bleaching domain. The company’s solutions have been helping textile makers to add to their sustainability quotient. The company has recently entered into a partnership with The Gaurs, who will be representing them in the Indian and Sri Lankan markets. Revozona’s solutions will be on display at The Gaurs’ booth during the forthcoming India ITME 2022 textile trade show to be held at Greater Noida. Giving a brief history of Revozona, CEO Gerard Peters said, “Revozona is located in Lugano, internationally one of the most top Swiss cities in the Canton of Ticino. Ticino is known as the old heart of European textiles.”

“Started in 2019, this group of textile, textile equipment engineering and textile market experts has developed revolutionary solutions for the textile printing and dyeing industry. With 30 years of professional knowledge and experience at their disposal, they have focussed on offering clean technology solutions in terms of sustainability and the reduction of CO2 emissions. The current Revozona equipment has resulted from those years of long efforts, now enabling the whole textile industry to grow into a net zero or, even better, into a climate-positive fashion and home textiles industry,” he added.

Revozona’s technology is suitable for the pre-treatment and bleaching of cellulose fibres covering cotton, viscose, linen, Tencel, jersey, spandex or blends thereof. Sharing details about the products and solutions offered by the company, Peters said, “The global textile industry faces many challenges related to combating climate change. Renowned fashion and home textile brands have in place climate agendas for 2030, 2040 and 2050. Such agendas define detailed paths towards a net zero and climate-positive textile industry. Textile printing and dyeing companies around the world are confronted with political, legislative and industrial demands to reduce substantially CO2, water, chemical and energy consumption.”

“This important message has too often not achieved decision-making levels and necessary actions are often not taken. Revozona offers textile manufacturers a chance to reduce their water consumption by up to 90% and energy and chemicals consumptions by up to 45%, especially in the fabric pre-treatment bleaching processes. Revozona’s unique pre-treatment lines can help transform a company from a mere textile-producing company into a company that manufactures sustainable textiles, putting the customer on the path of long-term success,” he added.

According to Peters, Revozona focuses on the most important textile markets of the world such as India, Turkey, Bangladesh, China and Italy. “Having selected these countries also very much relates to the industry’s attitude, awareness and willingness towards the necessary change towards sustainability, and towards making our industry net zero. Also taken into account are the climate-related actions undertaken by the country’s government as regards pushing forward on the climate agendas for 2030, 2040 and 2050,” he said. As such, all the solutions offered by Revozona are tweaked towards helping their clients achieve these missions of sustainability in both the short and long run.

Technology Edge

Elaborating on how the company’s technology has a competitive edge, Peters mentioned: “Revozona’s revolutionary, disruptive clean technology uses ozone gas as a strong oxidant. This makes our pre-treatment technology superior to all conventional technologies currently causing high amounts of CO2 emissions. Furthermore, enormous amounts of water, chemicals, energy, steam, heat and electricity are consumed while at the same time causing a high burden on water treatment plants. There is no technology in the marketplace to which Revozona’s technology for continuous processing of up to 3,200 mm fabric width can be compared.”

“Our equipment reaches processing results which are the same as the results achieved on conventional pre-treatment and bleaching lines. What makes Revozona equipment superior is the fact that we reduce CO2 emissions and the consumption of water by up to 90%. The use of chemicals, energy and steam is reduced by up to 45%. Revozona can help customers to achieve a reduction of water treatment COD values from 7,000 to 150, while PH values reduce from 10 to 6,” he further stated. Such technologies have found favour with the company’s clients across the world since they augur well for the future growth of the textile industry.

Partnership with The Gaurs

Throwing light on how the partnership with The Gaurs – which now represents it in the Indian market – came about, Peters remarked: “After three years of development and extensive testing under harsh, round-the-clock production circumstances, Revozona’s equipment has reached maturity. We are actively working on globally rolling out our solution. To be able to do so, we had been searching for an ideal local Indian partner. Now, having everything in place with The Gaurs as our exclusive representative for India and Sri Lanka, we are officially launching Revozona in this region.”

“The ITME exhibition to be held from December 8-13, 2022 will be the ideal platform to learn more about our equipment. Visiting The Gaurs in Hall 3, Booth C10 will give the textile printing and dyeing industry insights into how to obtain a leading position in supplying the world with sustainable textiles, fulfilling the number one priority of all renowned fashion and home brands,” Peters said. When asked to name some of the key customer installations of Revozona, he informed, “Revozona has entered into strategic partnerships with key customers in the globally biggest textile-producing country, China. These partnerships operate under non-disclosure agreements for understandable competitive reasons and this we respect at all times.”

“Hence we cannot give out names. But what we can share is that these early adopters became capable of supplying sustainable textiles and obtained enormous attention from many renowned fashion brands,” he added. Elaborating about the company’s partnership with The Gaurs, he remarked: “Our other strategic partners in Europe and Turkey who are already exclusively represented by The Gaurs advised us to consider them as a highly suitable agency for Revozona. A long-term and exclusive marketing, sales and service agreement for both India and Sri Lanka is in place. The Gaurs are the ideal partners for Revozona as they are already representing other European machinery manufacturers who offer pragmatic, futuristic and planet-positive solutions.”

Customer Service and Growth Triggers

Explaining the key factors that would drive demand for Revozona’s machines in the Indian and key global markets, Peters said, “The decisive factor that is now already driving global demand for Revozona’s equipment is the irreversible need for sustainable textiles. The awareness that this is the main need of all fashion and home textiles brands has often not yet arrived at the textile printing and dyeing companies, the main suppliers to these brands. Those textile manufacturers who understand the enormous chance they are now offered have the key to their long-term success. Taking a ‘wait and see’ approach will let others take leading positions and catching up at a later stage will be a very hard battle for sure.”

As per Sustainability Talks Istanbul of November 2, 2022, Revozona follows three important steps supporting the textile industry towards sustainable textiles. These steps are lived by brands and all the other stakeholders in the textile supply and value chains and include clear path, scalability and speed. In addition, Revozona and its products add to seven of United Nations Sustainability Development Goals (SDG). So how does Revozona take care of the after-sales, service and spares for customers in India? Does it also offer remote diagnostic services, whereby the service team sitting at the headquarters can diagnose the problem in the machine using the internet and sensors?

Responding to these questions, Peters said, “During the selection procedure to find Revozona a suitable local representative for India and Sri Lanka, we carefully studied the existing and future abilities of our local partner. We give great value to rendering local support during installation and commissioning, while at the same time after-sales service combined with the local availability of spare and wear parts is of high importance. This combination of The Gaurs perfectly offers all the above while safeguarding the continuous and uninterrupted operation of our equipment. Revozona’s service and support team are available too, not only remotely but also physically whenever required or for doing regular checks.”

Remote diagnostics was integrated into the company’s equipment right from the very beginning. “This is to be able to obtain insights based on client’s approval into the machine functions and parameters. Our cloud-based system furthermore covers management tools to keep track of production output. This is done via Revozona’s cloud solution which can be connected to PCs, mobile phones and tablets, to name just a few possibilities. Last but not the least, we made sure that the Revozona equipment is easy to operate and low on maintenance, thus also reducing the potential risk of any malfunctioning. Further, making use of parts and components from globally renowned suppliers and having a local supply of such parts was and remains a factor of crucial importance,” Peters said.

Future Plans

When queried on the company’s future plans, Peters replied, “Revozona has a clear path related to the roll-out of future products, which is already starting in 2023. We will further expand the fields of our current ozone equipment, thus increasing positive contributions in terms of CO2 reductions and water and energy savings. We are also in the process of bringing to maturity industrial solutions for the sustainable process of manmade fibres. As we have a wider focus on the textile printing industry, together with Imogo, Sweden and Pluvia, Turkey our joint blueprint for the printing and dyeing companies will be extended with green solutions for energy and heat generation combined with exciting solutions to further improve the CO2 footprint of companies with effective solutions for their water treatment plants.”
