Founded in 1971, the company has grown from strength to strength over the years and has made inroads into several key global markets. The company is all set to launch two new products at the forthcoming India ITME 2022 exhibition. In an exclusive chat, the company’s Managing Director Niraj Thakkar sounded quite upbeat about their recent performance. “Considering that on an average 30-40% spindles were shut globally in the last four months, we are running our plant at 80% capacity which is satisfying in today’s situation,” he said.

“Shifting to a single manufacturing location has been a big advantage in terms of logistics as well as various controls improving the efficiency and throughput. And as they say, there’s opportunity in every adversity and so it has been a good time for some introspection (reviews, plans and strategies) while also taking a breather to get ready as the global spinning industry prepares itself for the next phase of growth soon,” he added.

Highlighting the company’s product range, he said, “Precitex, as you know, is a leading manufacturer of cots and aprons with presence in 38 countries. We offer cots and aprons for all types of spinning technologies – short staple, long staple, cotton, synthetics, blends, wool, jute, texturizing, wet spinning, air jet spinning, etc. We make cots and aprons for all types of machines and fibres including preparatory. Precitex has also been an OEM supplier as well as a leader in the replacement market.”

Milestones

Speaking about some of the major achievements of the company in recent years, he mentioned: “We have been able to replace European manufacturers in prestigious export markets like Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Mexico, etc. which speaks volumes about our quality. Our Soft Plus Cot delivers 10-15% improvement in yarn quality over conventional cots. This product due to its unique design gives us an edge over other global cots and aprons manufacturers. Amongst aprons, our TA aprons for synthetics is our prized possession which has delivered beyond customer expectations.”

Product USPs

The spinning accessories business is a highly competitive segment with many local and global players aggressively competing for a share of the business in India. However, deliveries depend on the product mix, especially long and preparatory cots which are capacity-dampeners.”

“Capacity enhancement is on the papers and once the spinning industry situation improves and our utilisation too optimises, we plan to escalate at the existing location. With global customers’ preference for Precitex, we are very bullish on the spinning industry, our products and position in spinning. With that said, our further expansion will focus on automation as well as capacity enhancement,” he added. In fact, over the years, Precitex has created a very strong and sustainable footprint in terms of quality and precision not only in the domestic markets but also across the world.

New Launches at India ITME 2022

The company is all set and ready to participate in the India ITME 2022 trade fair. “We have a 108 sq. metres stall at the venue and we will showcase the next expected enhanced spinning experience to our customers. We shall be launching a new Soft Cot focussing on even better yarn quality than the existing cots. We shall also be launching an apron too, the details of which will be available at Hall 11, Booth B14. We look forward to interacting with our customers on our new technology offerings at the booth.”
