Pinter Group to launch Automatic Piecing Robot (APR)

ITMA 2023

Customers will be able to see a robot on the ring frame that pieces the yarns without any human intervention

Josep Torrent, Managing Director, Pinter Group

The Pinter Group has always been at the forefront when it comes to product innovation. It has made rapid inroads into key global markets with its spindle monitoring systems and roving stops. Come ITMA 2023, the company has lined up yet another exciting product for visitors. According to Josep Torrent, Managing Director of the Pinter Group, ITMA is the most important exhibition for the Pinter Group. “We are preparing a stand with a working ring frame to show how our automatic piecing robot works in real conditions,” he said.

Quality Product Range

Listing down the product range that the group currently offers in the global market, Torrent said, “We have four family products with all their variations:

  1. Core yarn systems
  2. Slub and colour effect systems
  3. Monitoring systems
  4. Automatic piecing robot.”

Sharing insights on the group’s participation at ITMA and the products that it will be showcasing at the event, he mentioned: “We are going to show core yarn systems applied on normal, compact and siro yarns. Our ring frame is going to be equipped with our Optifil monitoring system and we are going to make presentations of our Smart-Dragon monitoring software.”

Star Attraction

“Our star launch product will be the automatic piecing robot (APR). Our customers will be able to see a robot on the ring frame that pieces the yarns without any human intervention. The APR can thread itself the yarn when the feeding yarn is broken and make several tries if the piecing is not successful. In doing so, the APR is 100% autonomous. The APR is a piece of technology that can be applied on any type or brand of ring frame as it is not a constraint to any geometry of the machine. The different geometries can be simply adjusted by changing the parameters of the robot coordinates,” Torrent explained.

According to Torrent, In India domestic sales account for 80% of the sales while exports constitute the rest 20%. Industry 4.0 was the big theme at ITMA 2019. Over the years, automation and digitisation have become increasingly important. Elaborating on Pinter Group’s initiatives on this front, Torrent said, “Our APR goes precisely in this direction. Piecing yarns is a cumbersome task that employs a lot of labour. Even in low wage countries, finding labour ready to work in a spinning mill has become difficult. By automating the piecing, labour will be a great deal relieved of it.”

Key Strengths

Sharing insights about the advantages offered by the company over its competitors, Torrent noted: “We can offer quality products because of the long experience behind us. We are present in all the world textile markets with agents and technical service back-up. We can also produce in three key locations, namely, Italy, India and China, and so competitive prices can be offered. We offer tailored solutions for each customer. We are trendsetters in our sector as we prioritise research and development. We listen to customers as they are our inspiration for new developments.”

Commenting on the forthcoming show, Torrent said, “We welcome visitors to Hall 1, Stall D108 and look forward to meeting and interacting with customers from around the world.”
