Biancalani Textile Finishing Machinery (Biancalani), a global leader in textile finishing machinery, is all set to launch two new products at the forthcoming ITMA 2023 trade fair to be held in Milan. In an exclusive interaction, the company’s Director Rossano Biancalani sounded pleased with Biancalani’s performance in 2022. Elaborating, he said: “It was a very good year for the final development of our new products which will be showcased during ITMA 2023 to Indian customers and those who will visit the fair.” As regards the key global markets for the company, Rossano said: “India, Turkey, China and Pakistan are our most important markets but for the future we have our sights set on Africa’s textile industry. All western textile markets are obviously always of great interest to us.”

“Above all because we have developed the most striking innovations with European, Asian and American customers,” he added. Going into details regarding the product range offered by the company for the global market, Rossano said: “The Biancalani range of products and machinery for textile finishing industry includes the AQUARIA® open-width tumble washing and wet treatments system, which can be combined with classical items such as before and after washing modules and a new machinery for continuous open-width drying, softening and finishing all kind of fabrics. The company’s product range also includes machines for wool and blended fabrics’ finishing, rope washing and drying machines and auxiliary machines for drying fabrics and knitwear.”

New Products at ITMA 2023

The company has recently developed two new products: AQUARIA®, an open-width continuous washing system and DUETTO, continuous open drying machinery, both of which will be unveiled at ITMA 2023. “These are innovative textile machines – the AQUARIA® washing range is designed to reduce water and energy consumption in a very special way and DUETTO is in line with Biancalani’s philosophy to dry and soften fabrics reducing energy consumption while significantly increasing productivity and efficiency. Both new technologies are going to be unveiled on June 8 in Milan. Our technicians at the show will provide detailed information about these and other products such as the AIRO®, IDRA and MILLA as well as the free modular dryers that are partners of any other finishing machine or capable of working as a standalone drying system,” Rossano said.

Digitisation Initiatives

ITMA 2019 was all about Industry 4.0, automation and digitisation, which have since then picked up pace around the world. Speaking about Biancalani’s initiatives on this front, Rossano said: “Biancalani has implemented digitalisation on its textile machinery and lines in order to accompany customers on an ecological and sustainable path to reduce production costs and avail of easier process control in order to achieve more productivity and simplicity of use. Furthermore, at any given time the users of Biancalani machines can take advantage of the online support of expert technologists and engineers to further optimise the operation of the machines and their production programmes.”

“This support has allowed for the development of new processes that have proven how AQUARIA® and AIRO®24 and the other machines produced by the company transform traditional finishing processes with an eco-sustainable approach to textiles. The acquisition of the ‘Green Label’ certificate of sustainability and quality through ACIMIT and the RINA Certification Institute will be a further guarantee of quality and reliability for the buyers and users of our machines,” Elaborating on how the company’s products and technologies ensure sustainable manufacturing, Rossano said: “Biancalani Textile Finishing Machinery is always extremely attentive to sustainability, both in the production and testing processes of its machines and lines and in the execution of the processes themselves.”

“Processes such as eco-bleach, organic washing (scouring) and washing after-print offer some very important features for our customers. Eco-bleach is a bleaching process that uses biodegradable substances instead of pollutants. Organic washing (scouring) takes care of removing oils from polyester fabrics using natural detergents instead of chemical solvents. Washing after-print in AQUARIA offers very important savings in terms of water and energy. AIRO24 has always performed all treatments only through the use of high pressure and high-speed air, thereby ensuring zero pollution in its basic finishing treatments,” he added. Given that a customer has many options available, why should he consider Biancalani for his requirements?

Responding to this question while pointing out the strengths and advantages offered by the company, Rossano said: “Biancalani’s technological tradition and all the years spent developing new machinery and new textile finishes are the first guarantee for a customer. Our technology department is always ready to give answers to our customers anywhere in the world, offering the necessary confidence. And this has been the case for almost 70 years now – a long time span in which we have installed around 3,000 machines and lines in every textile segment, in every market. In addition to the support that each of our customers can get from our home in Italy, most of our local agents offer expert specialists able to satisfy every request of Biancalani machine users.”

The Way Ahead

Biancalani is buoyant about the growth prospects of the textile industry in the near future. “The global textile machinery export market is expected to be positive, especially after ITMA 2023. Besides being a great certainty for us in the past years, India will be a great partner for Biancalani in the years to come. We know that the Indian Government supports the textile industry a lot and we at Biancalani will do the same. We are therefore very optimistic and looking forward to greater innovations and more new products,” Rossano added.
